Join us on May 13th – 20th for the 2019 #STEMvideohall featuring 3min videos highlighting innovations in #STEM Education. WorldBeat Cultural Center will be participating in 2019 NSF’s STEM for All Video Showcase to Highlight Innovations in STEM Education.
The presentation, entitled “Community Perspectives on Noise Pollution,” uses a community-led approach aims to improve equity, diversity, and inclusion in Public Participation in Scientific Research (PPSR) as we document and self-reflect on the equitable co-creation of a community science project. The project will bring awareness about noise pollution, an issue of concern identified by the communities, and promote wellbeing and connection with nature. We intend to generate data to potentially change policy in neighborhoods where noise may be interfering with human health. The project was funded by the National Science Foundation.
